Introducing
Emily Weidner
I am currently a fourth-year Mathematics major at the University of Cincinnati, interested in programming, crochet, and deconstructing harmful societal norms.

For the first three years at UC, I was a Chemical Engineering Major. As a part of this, I went on my first co-op rotation in the spring of 2021 and learned a lot about the industry and myself. I co-oped with the Sherwin-Williams Company at a plant in Bowling Green, KY. There my main project was creating digital forms that collect information for a database on the processes used at the plant.

My second co-op was spent at Sherwin-Williams Headquarters in Cleveland, OH with the Continuous Improvement team. There I did many different projects and met many different people in a ton of different positions.

Between my two co-op experiences, I decided to switch majors to mathematics and aim for a career in Data Science. I am grateful for my past opportunities in Chemical Engineering but do not regret switching majors one bit as I am rediscovering my love for Mathematics.

I have had a great time so far with UC and I am looking forward to exploring experiences and learning about myself. Everything I have done in my first three years as well as whatever I end up doing in future years will be posted on the Year-in-Review and Experiences pages if you want to check it out!
